She is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Medical Association, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a minor in Chemistry, and was a member of the Honors College.
She received her dental degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry and graduated at the top of her class with multiple awards including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Student Award, the American Association of Dental Research Outstanding Student Award, and the University of Texas Kroeger Research Scholarship Award.
She then completed a prestigious six-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas School of Dentistry. In addition, she also received her medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston.
Training at one of the world’s leading medical centers provided opportunities to work with innovators in both medicine and dentistry. An experienced presenter at national conferences, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery meetings, Dr. Azhar has a passion for continuous learning to stay at the forefront of advancements in patient care.
Dr. Azhar is committed to providing excellent care with a nurturing and caring environment for her patients. Her special interests include surgical tooth extractions, advanced bone grafting-techniques, implant surgery, and pathology.
Dr. Mirza Bilal Baig
Dr. Mirza Baig brings advanced surgical training, a calm and approachable personality, and a genuine commitment to making patients feel comfortable and confident in their care. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at UCSF/Highland Hospital in Oakland, California, a Level I trauma center, where he served as Chief Resident. His extensive training includes wisdom teeth and complex extractions, dental implants and bone grafting, IV sedation and anesthesia, facial trauma, and corrective jaw surgery.
What Dr. Baig enjoys most is connecting with his patients and helping make what can feel like an intimidating experience as comfortable as possible. Now calling Houston home, he is excited to care for patients in the community where much of his family lives. Outside the office, you’ll likely find him hiking, exploring a national park, playing volleyball or flag football, catching a movie, or searching for Houston’s next great restaurant.
